Montgomery County takes great pride in its green spaces. A park system with over 30,000 acres is meticulously maintained offering miles of hiking, biking and recreation. The National Park Service is a big presence here maintaining treasures on the Mall and surrounding areas. 30 public and private courses are located in the county waiting to be discovered by new residents who live for golf. Hiking in the mountains or sailing in the Chesapeake Bay is just a short drive away.

                                           The National Zoo is the ‘Nation’s Zoo’ on 163 acres set amid
                                           Rock Creek National Park. The zoo is open 364 days a year to
                                           see more than 2,700 individual animals of 435 different
                                           species. As with all Smithsonian museums, there’s no
                                           admission charge.

The Chesapeake and Ohio Canal starts in the heart of Georgetown and
stretches 184.5 miles along the Potomac River to Cumberland, Maryland. 
The C&O is a great place to walk, watch birds, hike and ride horses.
